DFDS honored for "Excellence in Logistics"
September 2009                                                                    

On September 25 general manager sales of DFDS Container Line, André Mast, had every reason to be proud - and with him the rest of the DFDS Group: At the annual carriers meeting organized by the MARS company in Duisburg, he received the Filip Beckers Trophy for "Excellence in Logistics".

Out of approx 70 carriers throughout Europe they have chosen DFDS for the combination of good service, wide spread activities and the key account management concept.                
 

    

                        

 
New Managing Director for DFDS Container Line
 June 2009

  DFDS are pleased to inform you that we have appointed Paul Hoppenbrouwers as the new Managing Director of DFDS Container Line B.V. (DCL) Rotterdam, from 16 June. Besides responsibility for DCL, he will also bear overall responsibility for all intermodal activities within the DFDS Container Business Unit. Paul is 45 years old and has been MD of Frans Maas UK Ltd., MD of Ebrex Europe Logistics B.V., and was MD of Russ-Express Holding B.V. Venlo from 2008. 

 

 DFDS Container Line wins the IEA Short Sea Shipping Award
 November 2006

On 22 November 2006, the Irish Exporters' Association announced DFDS Container Line, formerly Norfolkline Container Division, to be the winner of the Short Sea Shipping Award 2006. In Dublin, the prize was accepted by DFDS Sales Manager Ireland, Michael Connolly.

The other nominees for this Award were Burke Shipping Group, Dublin, Dublin Ferryport Terminal, Eucon Shipping and Transport, Dublin and Stenaline Dublin.

DFDS Container Line received the Award for providing direct port-to-port shipping schedules thus reducing transit times that could stand up to stiff competition from the roll on/roll off operators. Working closely with Ianroid Eireann, we have recently re-established a rail link between Ballina and Waterford Port.
